FAQ

It’s a safe and naturally-based product that is effective. Choosing Restylane is ideal if you want to restore moisture, plump the lips and refine wrinkles.

Restylane is a transparent gel containing Hyaluronic Acid that is injected into the face to fill, contour and hydrate. The Hyaluronic Acid in Restylane is not animal-based, making it completely safe for dermal injection.

Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found and produced within the body, to add volume to the skin, lubricate the joints and even give eyes their shape. The Hyaluronic Acid used in Restylane products is not derived from humans or animals, and is stabilized for long duration.

Restylane treatments add temporary volume to facial tissue. It does this by using your body’s own natural moisture to retain the fullness and shape. The Hyaluronic Acid used to make Restylane is hydrophilic, meaning it is attracted to water. Each molecule of the substance naturally binds to more water over time as the Hyaluronic Acid gel degrades so that the same amount of volume is achieved when fewer amounts of the Hyaluronic Acid is present. Restylane’s ability to combine with water provides long-lasting volume.

A Restylane treatments are typically very quick and easy. The treatment usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment, the amount of correction that is needed and previous medical history. After the appointment, there is no need for downtime, and the patient can immediately return to their normal daily activities.

When you get a Restylane treatment done at New You, you can expect smoother, fuller skin, as well as an improvement in the appearance severe facial folds and wrinkles. Results usually last about six months after treatment, but are dependant on each individual patient.

During the treatment, the Restylane gel is injected into the skin in small quantities, using an ultra-fine needle. The Restylane gel then produces volume underneath the wrinkle, fold or scar lifting it and smoothing it. When injected into the lips or deep facial creases, Restylane expands underneath the skin, which adds fullness and volume, while also making the lips smoother.

Restylane’s unique formulation takes effect immediately and continues to work over time.

Like most dermal fillers, overtime the Restylane gel will dissolve and be absorbed by the body naturally. The duration of time between treatment and absorption varies from patient to patient and can be affected by a number of factors, including the state of your skin, your age, and lifestyle factors. Touch-ups and follow-up treatments can help extend and maximize the results of the treatment; most people choose to receive a follow-up treatment within a year of their first Restylane wrinkle or fine line treatment for wrinkles, and within 6 months for lip enhancements*.

Prolonged exposure to the extreme heat or cold is bad for even the healthiest skin, sunscreen should be worn year-round to prevent sun damage in men, women and children. When it comes to Restylane treatments avoid exposing treated areas to extreme heat or extreme cold, for the first couple of days after treatment. This helps reduce the risk of the treatment area getting red or inflamed. Once the Restylane has been integrated and accepted into the body, the gel will adjust and regulate to the body’s natural temperature.

Because Restylane is derived from Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring element in the body the likelihood of experiencing a reaction or side effects is minimal. However, some patients did report: Pain and tenderness in the treatment area, as well as itching, mild bruising, headaches, swelling, and redness.

At New You we offer a broad-range of Anti-Aging treatments and procedures to smooth and refine the skin and remove years from your face.
